How do I set up (or reconfigure) my Email Account in IncrediMail?

Adding a new email account in IncrediMail is simple. To configure your new email account settings, just follow these steps:
  1. In the IncrediMail main window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked in red) and select 'Email Accounts...' (marked inblue).

  2. In the 'Mail Accounts' dialog that opens, click 'Add' (marked in red) to add a new email account.


  3. At this point, the 'Account Wizard' dialog opens. You can configure your email account settings either automatically or manually.
If none of these works, please try configuring your Email Account in another Email Client to test your settings. For instructions on doing so, please click here.


How do I import my Email Account settings from another Email Client into IncrediMail?

To import your Email Account settings from another Email Client (such as Outlook or Windows Mail):
  1. Click the 'Tools' menu (marked in red) and then select 'Email Accounts…' (marked in blue).

  2. Click 'Add' (marked in red). If your Account is already listed, first choose your Account and then click 'Remove' (shown in blue) before clicking 'Add'.

To configure your Windows LiveMSN, or Hotmail email (or reconfigure a non-working email) using the 'Email Setup Wizard':
  1. Click the 'Tools' menu (shown in red) and then select 'Email Accounts...' (shown in blue).

  2. In the Mail Accounts dialog, click 'Add' (shown in red). If your account is already listed, first choose your account and then click 'Remove' (shown in blue) before clicking 'Add'.

  3. Please choose 'Let me configure settings myself' (shown in red), and click 'Next' (shown in blue). If you do not see the 'Let me configure…' option, continue toStep 4.

  4. Click Windows Live/Hotmail (shown in red).

  5. Type in your Windows Live ID (e.g. johndoe@hotmail.comjohndoe@live.com, etc.) and your password (as marked below in blue), click 'Next'

Note: Make sure that the password you entered is identical to the one your Email Account Provider has given you.

How can I change the order of my Email Accounts for receiving messages?

In the 'Mail Accounts' dialog, your Email Accounts are listed in the order which you will receive messages.
To change this, first open the 'Main Accounts' dialog by clicking the 'Tools' menu (marked below in red) and then selecting 'Email Accounts…' (marked in blue).

Now select an account and click 'Move Up' (marked below in red) or 'Move Down' (marked in blue).

To temporarily disable an Email Account (from receiving messages), simply uncheck the box next to the Account (as shown below in red).

An Email Account acts as a virtual address for Email Messages. It is provided to you by your Email Account Provider (in most cases your Internet Service Provider) and contains information about your Username, Email Account Provider, Password and Email Settings.

What is a Default Email Account, and how do I use it?

Your Default Email Account is used to send all outgoing messages. When you choose a Default Account, it will be listed in the 'From:' field of all new and outgoing messages, and any replies to your message will be sent to this address.
To change the Default Account, do the following:
  1. In the main IncrediMail window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked below in red) and then 'Email Accounts…' (marked in blue).

  2. Select the Email Account you wish to be Default (it will be highlighted after choosing), and click 'Set as Default' (marked in red).

How do I edit my Email Account Properties?

You can easily change your Email Account Properties. To do so, click the 'Tools' menu (shown in red), then 'Email Accounts…' (marked in blue).

Select your Account, and then click 'Properties' (marked in red).

In the 'General' tab of your Email Account properties (as seen below), you can change the following:
  1. Account Name - Name that shows in your Email Account list.
  2. Display Name - Name shown on Outgoing Messages.
  3. Email Address & Reply - You may change the Reply address if you want recipients to send replies to another address.
  4. 'Include this account...' - Uncheck to temporarily disable incoming messages for this account.

How can I leave a copy of my messages on the server?

In order to access your Email Account from more than one computer, two Email Clients installed on one computer, or from IncrediMail and your webmail simultaneously, you will need to leave a copy of your messages on the server.
To use this feature, please first install IncrediMail and set up your Email Account on each computer.

Please Note:
 For mobile devices, you will have to set up the 'Leave copy on server' option on your mobile device as well. For more assistance, contact that company's Customer Support.

After installing IncrediMail, please do the following:
  1. In the IncrediMail main window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked below in red) and select 'Email Accounts…' (marked in blue).

  2. Select your email account and click 'Properties' (marked in red).

  3. Select the 'Advanced' tab (marked in red) and check the 'Leave a copy of messages on server' check box (marked in blue).

Please Note: To temporarily leave a copy on the Server, make sure 'Remove from server after '#' days' (marked below in green) is also checked, and fill in the appropriate amount of days.

Please follow Steps 1 through 3 for each computer, or program, you are using!


How do I edit or remove an existing email account?

At times, Email Account properties (such as your Password or Username) may change or you may want to remove older Email Accounts you no longer use. You can easily edit your  Account settings, or remove old Accounts using the steps below. 

To edit an Email Account, follow these steps:

  1. In the main IncrediMail window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked in red) and select 'Email Accounts...' (marked inblue).

  2. At this point, the 'Mail Accounts' dialog opens. Select the Email Account you would like to edit and click'Properties' (marked in red).

  3. At this point, the account 'Properties' dialog opens. Select the relevant tab, 'General', 'Servers' or 'Advanced' (marked in red) and change any account settings as required. Click 'OK' (marked in blue) to close the 'Properties' dialog.

To remove an Email Account, follow these steps: 

  1. In the main IncrediMail window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked in red) and select 'Email Accounts...' (marked inblue).

  2. In the 'Mail Accounts' dialog, select the Email Account you wish to remove and click 'Remove' (marked in red).

Once you have removed or edited your Email Account, simply close the 'Mail Accounts' dialog. 


What Email Account Setup options can I use?

When starting IncrediMail for the first time, or creating a New Identity, you will be asked to configure an Email Account.
You may configure your account using the automatic Email Setup Wizard, which will automatically appear once you've installed IncrediMail, or by manually configuring the account (if it is already set up in another email program).
